Monroe is the largest city in Northeast Louisiana, is located prominently on the heavily traveled Highway I-20 and features the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
Geographically, our community is situated in Ouachita Parish of northeastern Louisiana midway between Dallas, Texas and Birmingham, Alabama.
The Ouachita River bisects the area with Monroe on the east bank and West Monroe on the west bank. Presently, Monroe is home to nearly 50,000 residents and contains an overall district of 31.2 square miles.
On the west bank, West Monroe encompasses 7 square miles and houses over 13,500 residents. In totality, the Ouachita parish is 643 square miles in size with a population of over 150,000 residents!
